The Dust Bowl

The Dust Bowl  Tomorrow night, PBS is broadcasting the premiere of Ken Burns newest documentary.  The dust bowl.  I became aware of this a few weeks ago from my mother.  She is a child of this time in history, and my dad actually lived through it as he was from Kansas.

History is a beautiful thing.  We can’t predict the future, but we can learn from the past.  I am very excited to watch this and hope LL and I go to my mom’s to watch it with her.  I like watching historical movies and shows with her when they take place in a time she has lived.  She is a smart woman with a good memory, so I can learn further details from her and hopefully she can remind me of the stories my dad told.

Speaking of my dad.  Today is the anniversary of his passing.  9 years ago.  It is always a hard day for my mom, my siblings, and me.  Miss him. 😦
